It's a 50th Wedding Anniversary

I'm sorry but there won't be any Project 365 this week. I didn't really take the pictures for it last week, and I'm afraid I won't have any this week either. It's really been rough going the last couple of weeks for me. I've been under a lot of stress with home life and work life.

Now on to my title for this post. I went on the 8th and took pictures at my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Anniversary. The party was a blast. I enjoyed the program the kids and grand kids put on. There were some stories that I had never heard before. What their son Michael had to say was just great. Unfortunately he couldn't be there to share in the joy of this occasion because he is serving in Iraq for the next year.

Now here are a few pics. I hope you like them Aunt Geraldine. This is just a little sneak preview, but these are the best ones. Which is just my opinion.

Happy 50th. Hope Eric and I make it to 50.

Michael just had to make it so there wasn't a dry eye in the place. His speech was very moving even if it was given in his absence.

Ty read a very nice poem for his Granna and PaPa.

Va Va Voom what a nice new ring set.

The happy couple.

Crazy! What me?

I couldn't quite come up with a title this week. Lets suffice to say it's not been a good couple of weeks for me, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. It's part of the reason I have been putting this off this week. I actually have had most of the pics edited and just waiting to go up. I just couldn't drag myself to the computer to do it though. At least I'm here now even if I have a million and one things to get done before I leave for the weekend. Oh did I mention I'm going to be photographing my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Yea well I am. I'm actually excited to be doing it and a little bit nervous too. I'm always my worst critic, and I just know that none of the pics I will take will be up to the standards I want them to be. Not to mention they always seen to look better on the screen than in print. I don't get that. Maybe someone out there can tell me what to do to fix it. Ok so I better stop rambling on or we'll be here all night. So without further ado here's the pics from last week.

July 27, 2009 ~ I'm sure this is totally illegal, but well I'm doing it anyways. This vanity plate made my whole day today. I just happened to be driving to work and pulled up behind this person. I had a very good laugh. Wish I would have come up with this for my Mustang. Too Cute.

July 28, 2009 ~ Here is me trying my hand at using the Manual slot on my camera dial. I didn't use this pic as the one I turned it, but I just liked it for me. I love my Bitch Kitty. I decided that she would get to spend some time outside after I had to torture her for a bit. Lets just say anal glands and leave it at that. I will spare you the details. Anyways being outside in the sunshine was her treat for not eating me alive. Don't get me wrong I did have battle wounds, but they weren't nearly as bad as I've had from her in the past.

July 29, 2009 ~ I'm totally clueless as to why I took this picture. Maybe I just liked the pretty clouds, and I couldn't think of anything better to shoot for the day.

July 30, 2009 ~ Yep here's another like yesterday was practicing again with the manual. It's the pond in all it's horrid ugly glory. It looks like crap this year but that's my fault. Oh well maybe next year I can add some color to it.

July 31, 2009 ~ Taking the easy road out today. Here are the books I read in July. Not that many compared to other months this year. I really have some catching up to do.

Aug 1, 2009 ~ Rain water on the car. Another shot of practice in manual mode, but I really liked this one. It reminds me of something that should be in an add for Turtle Wax.

Aug 2, 2009 ~ I think Hell has frozen over. I made this all on my own. I decided I wanted to make some Basil Pesto, and that's exactly what I did. I didn't make the bow tie pasta from scratch, but I made the rest. I have to say it turned out really good. It was quite yummy. The other items are not in the picture, but I also made a Jello Cake, and Spinach Artichoke Dip.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Sandy, Happy Birthday to you. Yep so how's it feel to be 21 again. LOL. Hope you had a great day.

So I guess that's it for this post otherwise you might be thinking I need to be locked up for my own safety. Until next week enjoy.

Why Hello There

I know tomorrow will hit the 3 week mark since I smashed the tar fire out of my finger. I can finally start to use it again for most things. The most important of those things is take pictures. I've ended up taking 3 weeks off from Project 365 which saddens me.I was trying to push through the rut I was in. I was slacking on getting my pictures because I just lost my inspiration, but now I think I have it back. I've signed up to do the World Wide Photo Walk on July 18th. Hopefully I will learn some useful stuff from some of the other photographers there. I've been truely debating on doing the photography thing as a business. I don't feel like I have enough knowledge in the business department, and I know I still have a long ways to go on the photography front. Many people are telling me I should give it a shot, but I think what has me putting the breaks on is the unknown. Not to mention all the work it's going to take, and I just don't know if I have it in me at the moment. We'll see you never know what tomorrow holds.

Tee Hee yea I have to say I know what tomorrow holds I have to go back to the Will Rogers Rose Garden to take pictures. I was there today but the camera had a melt down which in turn made me have a melt down. I was hot and the camera kept giving me an error code. I did everything I could thinnk of at the time to get the thing fixed, but nothing I did would work. I was freaking out because this expensive camera wasn't working. I got home worked on it some more to figure out it was the stupid memory card. Yep it crashed on me. This is the second time this has happened to me since April. (No it was not the same card. The first went in the trash) What gives? At least this time I was able to get what photos there were on it, and do a reformat. Needless to say I will NOT be using that card at the wedding I have coming up on the 14th of June. I can't even begin to explain to you have freaking scared I am that this is going to happen. On top of all of this it's my first big gig in photography, and I really want it to go well.

Oh and I still have to post Project 365 pictures from the 1st week in May. I have that much done at least. Well I have the pictures I don't have them edited for posting. I don't know when I am going to get around to doing that though. I think I might work on some scrapbooking first. I have just one more thing to do and the wedding cards will be done. Five years down the road, and I can't even count the numerous hours at it but it's done. Now I have several other things on my plate to work on. One of them is a special gift for a very very good friend of mine who truly is an amazing person. Hopefully the gift goes over as well as I feel it will. I'm pretty sure it will end up at a picture in Project 365.

Now on to the animals. We finally decided to crate Buddy (The Destroyer). He has eaten more of the carpet so now it really has to come up (as if there was any option before). The massive hole he made on the 7th has now morphed into a gargantuan hole. On top of that hole he made a new one in front of the door that started out the size of a gold ball, and is now the size of a volley ball. That makes 3 holes in the carpet in the living room. Not to mention he has had (and acted upon) thoughts of digging at other carpeted areas of the house. I had hopes he would stop doing this so we didn't have to lock him up again after being free for a few months. We got a new tray for the cage, and you wouldn't even know he's been free from it at all. Buddy and Storm both treat it almost as a dog house in the house. I have to say that even after they tear everything up at the end of the day I still love them, and I wouldn't get rid of them for anything in the world. My dogs make me happy, and so does my kitty cat. Yes they all get along for the most part. The one that doesn't get along is the cat. She's the alpha B**** in our house, and the dogs bow to her. We didn't just name her Princess Leia for no reason.

I suppose this is enough info for one post. I'm off to start on the next scrapping project. Hopefully I will get the 365 done in the next couple of days. Oh and I plan to post an update to the finger post just to show how it's doing after 3 weeks of healing. It's really done better than I thought it would.

OMG!!! My Finger

Yea I did something really stupid on Mother's Day. I slammed the car door on my finger. It hurt like well I can't even explain how bad it hurt because I've not ever had a hurt this bad. So here is the grusome pics don't look if you have a weak stomache. Needless to say I'm going to take a couple of weeks off from Project 365 as it's my camera clicking finger.

Fair Warning!!!

Here's the gap I had it stuck in. Yes the door closed all the way just like you see it here only my finger was in the crack.

The underside of my finger.

The top of my finger. So far it looks like I may keep the nail. This is the first day with the bandage off.

A side view.

The left and right finger.

Project 365

April 13, 2009 ~ Today starts the first day of my vacation. I spent a good portion of the day taking pictures of adorable little Koda. He wasn't in a picture taking mood so it was a little bit of a trying day. I did get this good one. Hopefully I will have plenty more chances to photograph this little guy.

April 14, 2009 ~ This is what I spend my Tuesday night doing. I'm loving this season. There is a ton of talent on the show this year, and I am intrigued by the variety. Even if my fav person got sent home I know we will be seeing much more of him. (If you're wondering I loved Scott)

April 15, 2009 ~ Luckily I didn't have to rush to get the taxes done today as they were done in February. This is what I spent my day at. I edited pics of Koda, and I made a slide show of the pics from his First Birthday Party.

April 16, 2009 ~ Headed out for the fun part of my vacation today. Eureka Spring here we come. Went to the drive through zoo, and saw this great big tortoise. It wasn't what I expected and was very expensive, but I know the money went to a good cause.

April 17, 2009 ~ The highlight of the trip is always getting to visit Turpentine Creek Wildlife Rescue. I didn't get to see Kenny this year as he passed away back in June. This is a very good place that is a exotic animal rescue. The animals are well taken care of, and put into as natural habitats as possible. TCWR does a really great job.

April 18, 2009 ~ Here is something I have actually blogged about Carving in the Ozarks. A great time was had by all.

April 19, 2009 ~ The downtown plaza in Eureka Springs. This is truly a beautiful place. I love it here.

April 20, 2009 ~ Came home today to this. Yep that would be a big ol hole in the carpet. We don't have just one but two holes in the carpet right smack in front of the couch. I guess Buddy told us what he thought of us going on vacation and leaving him alone for four days. Now he's in the habit of digging at the carpet like it's the dirt outside. Uggggg.

April 21, 2009 ~ The Azalea bushes we planted last year. I don't get how one isn't growing, but the other 3 are like weeds. They really are pretty.

April 22, 2009 ~ You know it's Spring when you can smell the fresh cut grass in the air. I hate mowing the lawn so the hubby gets the job, but I sure do love the smell of fresh cut grass in the Spring. In the summer not so much it just doesn't have the same smell.

April 23, 2009 ~ Don't know what Blogger's issue is with flipping this picture, but it still looks ok. This is another sign of Spring in the air. The lady bugs are out. I really like these guys.

April 24, 2009 ~ Here is the resident Frog in the pond. I'm really happy that this guy had picked us for a home. I really didn't think we would have any this year.

April 25, 2009 ~ Today was Korben's first birthday party at the prairie dog park. It was a great time. There really is nothing like seeing babies tear into those cakes. I got these cute little babies playing and having fun.

April 26, 2009 ~ Had my second shoot with Jessilyn. I loved this pic from the day. The poor little thing had her days and nights mixed up. Hopefully we fixed that because I kept her awake for most of the afternoon. This shot is just one where we let her have a small nap.

April 27, 2009 ~ I love these dog products. The dogs finally got their nails trimmed thanks to the QuickFinder. It gave me the confidence to know that I wasn't hurting them, and I could cut quite a bit off the nail. I then smoothed them out with the PediPaws. Love Love Love these items.

April 28, 2009 ~ Rain. Ugg enough said.

April 29, 2009 ~ Yet more RAIN. Go AWAY!!!!!!

April 30, 2009 ~ More rain. Leia looking out the front door dreaming she could go out. She's not a very good girl when she's outside.

May 1, 2009 ~ Books read in April. Not much but they sure were good.

May 2, 2009 ~ How often can a dog manage this. Yea the duck is sitting straight up in the air. Don't know how it happened but I had to get a shot of it. Don't think this will ever happen again.

May 3, 2009 ~ I have a mess going in the garage. I got tired of cleaning up parts of tile so I thought I would start tearing it up. This is about as far as I got. One day we'll have it all up. Maybe in the next few weeks. We are out of place to put trash as I have filled the bins already for the week.

Carving in the Ozarks

I have been really terrible about getting stuff posted as of late. We took our yearly trip to Eureka Springs, AR a few weekends back. I had a blast as usual. There is just something so quaint about this town. I pretty much love everything about it. Not to mention it was the site of our Honeymoon.

One of the fun things to do on the weekend we are there is the Carving in the Ozarks. It's a competition of sorts. Chainsaw carvers come from all over to participate in this. I don't really know a whole bunch about it. I know there are different carvings done over the weekend, and that proceeds from the auction on Saturday afternoon go to some form of charity. The carvers are also given awards for the best on both days. The awards are what I'm not sure about. I know on the website, which you can find here, they say which award the carvers received. I just don't know if anyone is given actual trophies or plaques. Anyway this is a ton of fun to watch.

I got a great surprise from my Aunt and Uncle on Saturday at the auction. There was this bear that just cracked me up. I really wanted it I found it so funny. It was a big ol bear with a stick for a fishing pole. The fishing pole had a itty bitty green fish on the end. The bear (who we named Baloo) looks so proud of his little bitty catch. I don't know I just really liked it. Well Aunt and Uncle bought the bear for me. I couldn't believe it. I really still can't believe it even though I see it everyday. We have it stored in the garage until we can get it sealed to put out in the yard by the pond. Which will happen once the yard gets it's make over.

Project 365 and a Tidbit

Tried to put this on the bottom, but it kept running on to the last part so you're getting it here. In other news I'm very happy to report I have a LIVE frog in the pond. I was very happy to have the bejesus scared out of me the other day. I didn't know if we would have them visit this year with the 2 I found dead earlier. Now we just have to get the pond cleaned out. Hopefully I will get to stock it with some goldfish this year.
So how was everyone else's Easter?

April 6, 2009 ~ Here is a pic of my beautiful Tulips in all their glory. I think I fall in love with them again every year. I planted these in Dec of 06 right after we bought the house.

April 7, 2009 ~ The Azalea bush that is growing like a champ. We planted 4 of these last May, and 2 are doing great the other 2 not so good. I really think I'm going to enjoy these bushes.

April 8, 2009 ~ I have to stop at Sonic everyday before work for a large Dr. Pepper. The ladies here know what I want as soon as I show up.

April 9, 2009 ~ The Iris. I like these, but I wish they were a different color. I may just have to plant some purple ones to compliment these.

April 10, 2009 ~ The Azalea's with blooms. I really like the color on the flower.

April 11, 2009 ~ I had a wonderful time on Saturday with this photo shoot. I got some really great pictures of Kortneigh and Korben. I also got great pictures of Landon and Nichole. I worked really hard for these and it paid off.

April 12, 2009 ~ HAPPY EASTER. We went to lunch at an Aunt and Uncle's house. It was great getting to see family that I don't get to see very often. I had a chance to meet little Jessilyn. She was born on March 26th. She sure is beautiful and she takes great photographs. Wish I had the naked baby pictures, but I had a memory card crash on me. It won't work at all, and I lost several pictures. Oh well I'm looking forward to another shoot with Jessilyn in the next couple of weeks.
